The History of our Court
Court Our Lady of Fatima, #1387, has been open to Catholic women of Southern California's Inland Empire since November 4, 1945. Our first meetings were at the parish hall of St. George Catholic Church in Ontario.
On November 8th, 2015, our Court celebrated its 70th year in service to our community and those in need. We were honored with the presence of our State Chaplain, Father Stephen Porter; First Vice State Regent Mary Bernard; and Rev. Cyriacus Ogu.
In November of 2010, we celebrated our 65th anniversary with a Mass, luncheon, speakers, and anniversary recognition. Honored guests included Monsignor Timothy Lawlor; Nancy Ticich, Past Regent; Susan Killian, California State Regent; Helen Ammannito, Charter Member; and Valerie Forrest, Vocalist.
In addition to charitable works such as visiting the aged and infirm, and participating in our local parish ministries, members of our Court work together to raise money for various charities.
In recent years, typical activities for fundraising include card parties, food drives, toy drives, baby shower collections, and selling Mass cards and See's Candies. And since the pandemic hit, we have held online fundraisers with a Virtual Bake Sale, Yum-raiser sales of See's Candies (Spring and Christmas), an online Christmas Pop-In Shop, St. Patrick's Day "Zoom" Bingo, and an online Spring Fling Pop-In Shop.
We join other Catholic Daughters courts in our Diocese of San Bernardino when we hold yearly luncheons to collect baby items for Catholic Charities. Additionally, each Court hosts a monthly Rosary at their respective church in the area. And yearly, our Court celebrates a membership dinner in June and a Christmas dinner in December.
